Happy New Year 2018

Happy New Year!

I don't really make New Year's Resolutions, but this year might be the year to start.

My nephew and I hanging out at Christmas time
Ensemble avec mon neveu pendent Noel.

My brother and 3 sisters together on Christmas eve
Mon frere et 3 soeurs le réveillon de Noël

Playing dominoes together...where I learned to be competitive.
Nous jouons les dominos....ou j'ai appris à être compétitif

Christmas breakfast together with my parents, sister and nephew
Petit dejeuner avec ma famille

Spending time with several people who have lived and/or worked in the DRC.
Ruth and Richard Dix served in Nyankunde for more than 25 years.
Mek, Ben, Sarah (taking the picture) are part of Congo Impact...
an organization helping students in Nyankunde to get a better education through scholarships.

Ensemble avec un couple qui travaillent au Congo pendent 25iene des années.
Les autres sont parties d'une organization s'appele Congo Impact...
ils aident des etudients d'avoir une meilleure éducation

Mek and I taking a walk on one of the hills in the middle of L.A.
She's, hopefully, going to be coming in August to be the school teacher for all the missionary kids.

Mek et moi nous promenons dans les collines de Los Angeles..
Nous esperons l'année prochaine qu'elle va ensenyer les enfants des missionaires.

Looking out over L.A.
En regardent L.A.

I'm in the last couple weeks of my time here in the US (planning on leaving the end of January).  I'm packing up my things.  Getting my paperwork in order. Etc...

Pray as I go back to the DRC
1. Good health
2. Good transition back to rural life, speaking French, and working in the hospital.
3. Ability to pick up Swahili quickly
4. Wisdom to know what's best to do on a daily basis with helping people, dealing with the poverty, and knowing when and how to help people.

Many blessings in this new year.
Stay in touch.
And, come and visit any time.
